Articles - Ambassador's Challenge |

Mac Showers, Linda Mazawey and J. Knox Singleton, along with two other Chapter members who wish to remain anonymous, have accepted the Ambassador's Challenge. Help to take a stand in the fight against Alzheimer's by becoming an Ambassador TODAY! What is an Alzheimer's Ambassador? An Alzheimer's Ambassador is an individual who contributes a minimum gift of $1,000 annually to the Northern Virginia Chapter. The contribution is used for enhancement of the Chapter's programs and services. A contributor may indicate a specific program or service that he or she wishes the monetary contribution to go toward. "The Northern Virginia Chapter's service area is so large that I want to help in any way I can to help the staff members in reaching families in need of support services," says Mazawey. "After seeing the staff's hard work in completing the strategic plan for the next five years, I wanted to take the lead in showing my appreciation and support," Mazawey adds. "The most important thing, in my opinion, is helping the family. By contributing money to the Alzheimer's Association, I would like to see the enhancement of Patient and Family Services, specifically support groups," says Showers. "Because my daughter-in-law's father has Alzheimer's disease, I wanted to be a part of providing and enhancing the education and support services that the Chapter offers," says Singleton. Mazawey adds, "As a board member, I think it's important for me to set the stage for other Chapter members and caregivers. Contributions, whether it's time or money, is what keeps this organization going." Interested in becoming an Alzheimer's Ambassador?
