(FAIRFAX, VA) -- April 6, 1999 -- The Alzheimer's Association, Northern Virginia Chapter, presents its Celebrity Fashion Show on Friday, May 7, in the McLean Hilton Ballroom from noon to 2:00 p.m.

This pre-Mother's Day extravaganza will feature local news media, sports, and business celebrities as models for the latest in summer fashion by Mae's Dress Boutique, Cache', Jos A. Banks, Rodier/Paris, and designs by Mark Metzger of Highcliffe Clothier, Ltd and Tommy Hilfiger.

Models include:

  • Tommy Hilfiger model from New York - Jayson Simpson
  • Washington Redskin Daryl Pounds
  • Washington Redskins Dan & Matt Turk
  • Washington Redskin Shar Pourdanesh
  • Washington Redskin Mark Fisher
  • WJLA-TV7 reporters Michael Cairns and Mary Jo Walsh
  • WTTG-TV5 news anchors Tracey Neale and Hillary Howard
  • WMAL Brook Stevens
  • W*USA TV 9 Reporters Teri Okita, Lexy Hickcock and Monika Samtani

WJLA - TV 7 news anchor, Gail Pennybacker and health reporter, Rea Blakey will serve as Mistresses of Ceremony.

The fashion show is sponsored by a variety of corporations and other businesses, including Robbins/Gioia, Litton/PRC, CEMA, Sprint, George Mason Bank, Federal Data Corporation and Bank of America/NationsBank.

Proceeds from the event will help the Chapter provide programs and services to caregivers of persons with Alzheimer's disease and other related memory loss illnesses.

Individual tickets are $50 and tables of 10 are available for $500. Persons interested in reserving a seat or for more information are asked to call the Alzheimer's Association at (703) 359-4440. Tickets will be sold at the door.
